A couple who are expecting their first child have found their perfect home at Bloor Homes’ Earl’s Garden development in Sible Hedingham.

Aaron and Charlotte Sawyer are expecting more than just a few presents this December and were desperate to buy their first home before the arrival of their new baby.

Buying a new build rather than an existing property was an easy decision for healthcare assistant Charlotte who didn’t want the stress of having to decorate a house while looking after a new born baby.

And the Help to Buy scheme helped them afford the property far quicker than they originally thought possible.

They chose a two-bedroom apartment at Earl’s Garden which currently has three and four-bedroom homes available from £252,995.

“It feels great owning our first place together,” says Charlotte. “And it’s such a lovely apartment and area.

“We only lived 15 minutes away in Braintree so decided to have a look at the development when we drove past. We really liked it, so then it was a case of just going for it.

“We wanted a new build as with me being pregnant we didn’t want to have to do too much to the property. The thought of having to decorate after moving in filled me with dread!

“We love all the rooms but my favourites are the lovely open-plan kitchen and large dining room.

“Sible Hedingham is such a nice village as well.  It’s familiar to us and feels like home - I used to live here while Aaron also has family here. Everything just shouted out to us to come here.”

Earl’s Garden is a stunning collection of homes by highly regarded developer Bloor Homes in a picturesque village surrounded by countryside.

But Sible Hedingham also boasts excellent road links so Charlotte and Aaron, a traffic management operative, can get to work.

The couple have been saving up for a deposit on a new home, but they were able to secure it quicker than expected thanks to the Help To Buy scheme which has provided a great boost ahead of them becoming parents for the first time.

With Help to Buy, those eligible could be able to purchase a home for just 80 per cent of its full value, comprising a five per cent deposit and 75 per cent mortgage.

The remaining 20 per cent is provided as an equity loan from the government which is interest-free for five years.

“Bloor were very helpful,” continued Charlotte. “I can’t fault them at all and using the Help To Buy scheme was great.

“We are now looking forward to bringing our youngster up in a lovely area.”
